About CalcWright

Free construction calculators built for contractors, DIYers, and homeowners.

Our Mission

We exist to take the guesswork out of construction projects. Every calculator on CalcWright uses an industry-standard formula, checked against how contractors actually work in the field. No signup, no paywall, no email required. You show up, run the numbers, and get back to the job.

Most calculator sites bury the tool under popups or ask you to register before you can do basic math. We went the other way. The tools load fast, work on a phone, and show how the answer was reached.

What We Offer

How We Verify Our Formulas

We don't invent formulas. They come from industry-standard references like Building Construction Illustrated by Francis D.K. Ching, manufacturer specifications such as NAPA standards for asphalt density, and verified contractor practice. When a formula has more than one accepted variant, we use the most conservative one so your estimate errs on the safe side.

Who Runs CalcWright

CalcWright is run by the CalcWright Team, an independent group focused on keeping construction math free and easy to reach. We don't sell user data, we don't require accounts, and we make money only through display advertising (once approved) and affiliate links, which we disclose in our Disclaimer.

Why CalcWright Is Free

Running costs get covered by display advertising once Google AdSense approves the site. Until then, CalcWright is free as a labor of love. Either way, the tools stay free for you.

What We Are NOT

CalcWright gives you estimates, not engineering specifications. For load-bearing calculations, permits, or any safety-critical work, always consult a licensed engineer or contractor. Our Disclaimer spells out the full terms.
