How to use this calculator ↓

What your result means

Total cost is the driveway area times your installed price per square foot, which already bundles concrete, labor, and finishing. Add 10 to 20% for excavation, rebar, control joints, and sealer, which the per-foot figure usually leaves out. Decorative finishes like stamped or colored run higher, $15 to $25 a square foot.

How to use this calculator

  1. Measure driveway dimensions.
  2. Get installed cost per sq ft from 3 contractor quotes ($6-12 typical).
  3. Read area and total cost.
  4. Add 10-20% for excavation, rebar, control joints, sealer.
  5. Concrete driveways last 30+ years - worth the upfront cost.

The formula

area = length * width totalCost = area * costPerSqFt

Driveway area is length times width. Multiply by your installed price per square foot for the total.

Worked example

Say you've got a 40 by 12 ft driveway at $9 a square foot installed. The area is 480 sq ft, so the pour runs $4,320. Add 15% for excavation, rebar, and joints and budget about $4,970.
